Create Your First Course

Parkdly groups courses into Projects. A Project is a container that lets related courses share assets such as logos and sponsor images. When you create your first course, Parkdly creates a Project for you.

To open the dialog, click Create your first course on the Studio home. When you already have courses, click New course at the top of Home.

  1. Enter a course name in Your Course Name.
  2. Under Distance Units, select Metric (meters) or Imperial (feet).
  3. Click Let's Get Started.

Parkdly suggests a random course name. To get a new suggestion, click the refresh icon. You can change the name later in the course settings. The distance units set how distances appear on your Tee Signs.

When you already have courses, the last button reads Create Course.

Choose how to place the course

Your course opens on a start screen titled Let's put your course on the map. Choose one option:

  • Select the area on a map — pick where your course is, then place the Holes yourself.
  • Paste coordinates — you already have the Tee and Target positions for each Hole.
  • Import from Tjing — your course is already mapped in Tjing.

Three steps at the top of the editor show the main sections of course design:

  • Area Selection — define the geographic boundary of your course.
  • Course Builder — place Holes, Course Elements and Boundaries on the map.
  • Signage Editor — preview and customize your Tee Signs and Info Board.

The Download button is next to the steps. Course settings is a separate page with the course name, distance units and share links.

Import a course from Tjing

The import works only on a course that has no Holes and no Layouts yet. Your plan sets the Hole limit and the number of Layouts for each course. You can import up to five layouts at once.

  1. Create the course as described above.
  2. On the start screen, choose Import from Tjing.
  3. Paste the Tjing course link or ID.
  4. Click Find layouts.
  5. Tick the layouts to import.
  6. If you ticked two or more layouts, check the Layout name of each one.
  7. Click Import layout.

Parkdly suggests a short name for each layout.

Each Hole arrives with its number, par, length, one Tee and one Target. Parkdly then downloads the map and opens the course.
